Members are always welcome to come along to the weekly Cards Night on Tuesdays at The Diddy from 4pm to 6pm.

 

This may be followed by a casual dinner for those who like to stay.

​Coffee mornings are held every Monday at 10.30. Monday Morning Coffee is held at Brewmance (where Nibu used to be) in Lane Cove.

​HAWKESBURY WINTER YULEFEST

​

Experience the charm of the Hawkesbury region and magic of Yulefest at the Hawkesbury Crowne Plaza.

 

Day one:  Heritage Guide Judith Dunn OAM joins our coach in the morning. We travel to Ebenezer while Judith shares intriguing stories about the early settlers. Discover the rich history of this fertile region and remarkable development of the area.  

 

Visit Australia’s oldest church in Ebenezer established in 1809 and delve into its fascinating history and significance.

 

Walk Windsor’s old own square and hear stories of scandal and intrigue.

 

See pioneer buildings and hear many more stories.

 

An after lunch stop at St Matthew’s Anglican Church (1817), its beautiful Georgian architecture said to be one of Architect Francis Greenway’s best works.  St Matthew’s is renowned for its historic cemetery where many early settlers and notable figures are buried. Tour the most interesting graves.

 

Immerse in the spirit of the season in the Crown Plaza’s festive décor, full traditional and seafood buffet dinner, 3 hour beverage package and lively entertainment, including a visit from Santa himself!

 

Day two:  Travel southwest on a journey of discovery at the Western Sydney International Experience Centre where valuable insights into Australia's first smart airport and its impacts on the region await. Immersive and interactive displays take you on a journey of learning about the Airport. There is access to project information, including digital engagement.

 

Enjoy lunch in Camden before visiting Camden Museum. Housed in a charming heritage building, the museum features a diverse collection of artefacts, photographs, and documents that highlight the region's Aboriginal heritage,colonial past, and agricultural development.

 

Cost pp $615 twin share / single supplement is $155.

CHRISTMAS LUNCH

​

 

Date: WEDNESDAY 11 DECEMBER 2024  @ 12noon

​

Venue: Hunters Hill Hotel on The Deck

​

Cost: $60 per person

​

It is always enjoyable to share the run up to Christmas with family and

friends. Members of Longueville Probus and their friends are invited

to join us to celebrate Christmas at The Hunters Hill Hotel (HHH).

 

The Hotel  has underground parking with lift access to The Deck on the

upper floor. The Hotel also has a bar available to purchase your

own drinks.

​

The cost is $60 per person. Payments can be made by direct bank transfer (details below). Payment, numbers and menu choices need to be finalised by 27th November.

BUSHWALK

​

 

Date: THURSDAY 3RD APRIL

​

Time: 10 am

​

Venue: Coal Loader, Waverton

​

Cost: Members to buy their own lunch and drinks

​

Activity Champion: Dennis Kleinberg

 

Meet at the Coal loader Café 10:00am 2 Balls Head Rd, Waverton for morning coffee.

 

The walk will start at 10:30 for an easy Balls Head Reserve round trip about 1 – 1.5 hours round trip.  Bring water and comfortable shoes. 

Then back to the Café for refreshments. 

 

After there is an option to complete the round trip to Berry’s Bay lookout.

​AUTUMN COLOURS TOUR

3 day tour taking in many of the spectacular gardens of the region as well as exploring some of its fascinating towns and villages.​

COCKATOO  ISLAND  DAY  TRIP

 

 

Date: WEDNESDAY, 20 NOVEMBER @ 10am

​

Venue: Cockatoo Island

​

Cost: $16 per person 

 

Cockatoo Island is on our doorstep and many of us haven’t had the opportunity to join a group of friends to explore the island and find out about its interesting history.  We would love you to join us.

 

Meet at Woolwich Wharf, Valentia Street Woolwich, no later than 10am. (The ferry departs 10:10 PROMPTLY, sometimes a couple of minutes early and there is only one trip per hour!).

 

Travel to Cockatoo Island in time to join a guided tour of the Island Highlights starting at 10.30.  This is a walking tour at a cost of $16 per person (see payment options below). It does include walking up a slope - but not a long distance.

 

After the 60 minute tour those of us interested will head to the Cockatoo 

Marina Cafe for a bite to eat before catching a ferry back to Woolwich.

MELBOURNE  CUP  LUNCHEON

Cost: No cost - bring a plate

 

Join other club members and prospective members at the home of Gayle & Jim Macready,  19 Joseph Street, Lane Cove.

 

Please bring a plate of finger food to share, ie, sandwiches, sausage rolls, cheeses, fresh fruit etc. and your own wine and preferred drink and glass.

 

A fruit punch will be provided as well as serviettes, paper cups and paper plates.
